I was sure that Joss asked me to take her senior portraits last year but as seems to be the norm these days, it was actually two years ago after I tagged along on a fall afternoon to capture her and her brother, Riley, hauling traps in Harpswell. We met up at Mackerel Cove, where she and her dad keep their respective boats moored (her dad, Herman, named his boat after Joss 🥰). I think Mackerel Cove in particular is the most perfect Maine scene - the combination of the natural beauty of our coast with the working waterfront, the lifeblood of the Harpswell islands.
Joss is mature, funny, sure of herself and what she wants for her future. After graduation from Mt. Ararat this coming spring, she’s planning to get her (adult) lobstering license, is considering crewing a yacht somewhere amazing, and going to technical school for welding. So so badass.
I struggled hard to narrow down this session to a reasonable number of images. I just love them all SO MUCH. Her boyfriend, Cole, and her mom (friend of mine for 25+ years), Monique, tagged along and we really had the best time. Joss, THANK YOU so so much for trusting me with this moment in your life, it was an honor and a privilege and I’m so grateful!
