Married: Jon & AJ

SO many things to say about this wedding but I'll do my best to keep it short and let the images do the talking.

I've known Jon probably longer than anyone with the exception of my family. We moved next door back in the late '80s, Jon's family our first neighbors-turned-best-family-friends. Jon and I were in the same class through 6th grade before we attended different middle and high schools. Summers were filled with riding bikes, boating, swimming and family BBQs, winters with sledding, snow fort building and dips in the hot tub in a winter wonderland. As we headed off to college in completely separate directions (he to Savannah while I was in upstate NY), we saw each other once a year at most but always had 'home', two houses down a dirt road in Maine, in common.

Fast forward to a couple of years ago when Jon brought AJ home to Maine for a visit and introductions. He was clearly smitten and it didn't take long to see why. AJ has that immediate warmth, like someone you've known forever. She's kind and caring, passionate and spirited, a person that you want to be friends with even though you barely know her. Having all of those same traits, Jon had clearly met his match.

I had the absolute honor and privilege to play the role of both photographer and guest, a unique challenge that was rewarded with a cocktail once the reception started! Jon is the Operations Manager of the Photography Department at the Savannah College of Art and Design - ie. he is an incredibly talented photographer and had multiple guests at his wedding that are also incredibly talented (and famous in some cases, nbd) photographers. No.pressure. I was absolutely floored when they asked me to shoot their wedding.

Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Mooring B&B in Georgetown, Maine, a quick 10 miles from where we grew up. The fog hung out right off shore for most of the afternoon and evening, the sun shining brightly just when it needed to, the venue a perfect representation of what makes for a great Maine wedding. The food, dancing and scenery were on point, the best way to show AJ's out of town family what Maine is all about!

Jon & AJ, I can't thank you enough for trusting me with your day! You guys were an absolute joy to photograph, I just wish we could do it again! I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Much love xoxo
